Truck crashes into Acre bus stop killing 1, injuring 10

Police believe drunk driver purposely plowed into pedestrians; 11-year-old killed in separate hit-and-run accident near Beduin village in Negev.

A truck crashed into a bus stop near the Acre train station on Thursday, killing one pedestrian and injuring 10 others. Three pedestrians were critically injured, while the other seven were slightly hurt.
MDA paramedics were called to the scene where they treated the injured parties.

Following the incident, the truck's driver fled the scene, but was stopped by police shortly after. According to preliminary reports,the driver was drunk.
Police said that the truck driver purposely plowed into the people and hit several vehicles during the incident. The motive for the driver's actions was unknown.
In a separate accident, an 11-year-old boy was killed in what appeared to be a hit-and-run near the entrance to the Beduin village of Hura in the Negev.
MDA paramedics rushed the boy to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba where he was pronounced dead.
Police were investigating the circumstances of the accident.
