Two men were injured on Saturday morning when their ultralight aircraft hit a high voltage power line in the northern Negev. The pilot, a man in his forties, was moderately injured, and his passenger, in his fifties, was lightly-to-moderately injured in the incident. According to Israel Radio, the men were flying over the agricultural lands of Lahish when the aircraft flew into the power line at the entrance to the settlement. The men sustained injuries to their arms and legs after falling to the ground from a height of some 10 meters. A military helicopter evacuated them to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba. Also on Saturday morning, a 30-year-old man from Kiryat Shmona was electrocuted during a fishing trip near Yesod Hama'ala. From the initial investigation it appears that his fishing rod accidentally hit a high voltage power line near the fish pond. A Magen David Adom team pronounced him dead at the scene.
