UNSC to discuss cease-fire; General Assembly to hold emergency session

The United Nations Security Counsel will convene on Thursday afternoon to discuss cease-fire proposals aimed at achieving a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, Israel Radio reported.
In a related initiative, the president of the UN General Assembly called an emergency special session on the humanitarian situation in Gaza on Thursday evening.
Any resolution adopted by the 192-member world body would not be legally binding.
