US military: Bomb kills American soldier in Iraq

An American soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in a province north of Baghdad on Sunday. A US military statement said the Multi-National Division - North soldier died in the blast in Salahuddin province, but didn't provide more details. The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. At least 4,272 members of the US military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.
