Welfare and Finance ministries approve new unemployment benefit plan

The Welfare and Finance ministries on Tuesday approved an emergency unemployment assistance plan.
According to the initiative, the compulsory time for prior employment in order to qualify for benefits will be cut from a year to nine months.
The plan will become effective once Israel's unemployment rate reaches 7.5 percent.
