Have you played the Bibi drinking game? Take a shot every time Congress gives Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a standing ovation during Israel may be importing a sitcom, but we seem to export models-slash-action-stars at an impressive pace. After Gal Gadot's role in Fast Five and Mali Levi's casting in World War X, Esti Ginzburg is the next model to trying to make it big in Hollywood – this time as a Bond girl. Ginzburg was invited for the first stage of auditions for the next Bond film, following in the footsteps of Moran Atias, who made it to the final stages of tryouts for Quantum of Solace.
Another Israeli export: New film Footnote, directed by Joseph Cedar and starring Lior Ashkenazi and Shlomo Bar Aba, which won Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival. The film deals with a rivalry between father and son, both Talmudic Scholars.
Tattoos in Hebrew seem to be big celebrity trend: Victoria and David Beckham have matching quotes from Song of Songs emblazoned on their bodies and Madonna has references to Kabbala. The latest celeb to get inked in ivrit? None other than Justin Bieber. Bieber was spotted on the beach in Hawaii with girlfriend Selena Gomez with "Yeshua," Jesus' name in Hebrew, inked on his side.
Last Saturday, the world was supposed to end. At least that's what some Christians said, predicting the Rapture for May 21, 2011. Cartoonist Ty Templeton had an interesting prediction for Rapture day: All the world's superheroes would remain on Earth, because they're all secretly Jewish! Click here to see his Rapture cartoon.
