One in three US citizens believes that Jews in the US are more loyal to Israel than their country of residency, according to data presented to the Knesset Absorption Committee by Anti-Defamation League (ADL) National Director Abe Foxman on Tuesday.
Foxman further stated that an overall drop was recorded in the number of anti-Semites in the US, from 30 percent to 15% in the last 30 years.
However, he said the figure still amounted to approximately 35 million people.
The ADL director also said that from 2005-2007, the number of anti-Semitic incidents in the US per year decreased from 1,757 to 1,350.
Last Thursday, a report published by a Jewish community organization showed that anti-Semitic hate incidents had fallen slightly in the UK in the last year but remain at an unacceptable high level.
Violent assaults have, however, risen to the highest-ever number, according to the report published by the Community Security Trust (CST), a community charity that provides security, training and advice for the protection of British Jews and represents British Jewry to police, government and media on anti-Semitism and security issues.
