Avi Pazner expected to be named acting chairman of the Jewish Agency

The veteran diplomat Avi Pazner is expected to named acting chairman of the Jewish Agency next week. Pazner, who serves as World Chairman of Keren Hayesod, would be in office for three months until an interim leader of the organization is selected in June for an abbreviated one-year term. Former Jewish Agency chairman Zeev Bielski officially stepped down from his position on Tuesday after he was sworn into the Knesset as a Kadima MK.
