An Argentine news agency reported that a local seminary has dismissed a Roman Catholic bishop whose denial of the Holocaust led the Vatican to demand he recant. Diarios y Noticias said the ultraconservative Society of St. Pius X is relieving Bishop Richard Williamson of his post as director of its seminary in La Reja. The agency cited a statement from the society's regional head, Father Christian Bouchacourt, that it received Sunday. Neither the seminary nor Bouchacourt could be reached to confirm the report. Efforts to reach Williamson were unsuccessful.
