Recycling catches on in Kiryat Ata

Awareness of the need to recycle has been growing around Israel in recent years and has now caught on in Kiryat Ata, north of Haifa, reports www.local.co.il. The city has recently placed 180 blue garbage bins around town to enable residents to dispose of paper products for recycling. According to the report, the city has placed 70 blue bins on city streets and a further 110 blue bins in apartment buildings for paper collection. It has also launched a contest among students to collect paper for recycling, with an educational prize for the winning school. All the collected paper items will be transferred to a local company for recycling.
