City wins award for women's employment policy

Ra'anana has been named the "Most Advanced Employer" among local authorities for its employment policies toward women, reports www.local.co.il. A panel of judges headed by retired Tel Aviv District Court judge Saviona Rotlevi awarded the distinction to the city because nine of its 20 councilors - including two deputy mayors - and 80 percent of its municipal employees are women. The report said the award was a joint initiative by public servants, industry managers, local authorities and the International Women's Forum in Israel.
