Two US soldiers were killed and another wounded in indirect fire on a base northwest of Tikrit, the US military said Saturday.
The attack on Contingency Operating Base Speicher, northwest of Saddam Hussein's ancestral home town, happened Thursday, the military said in a statement.
The names of the soldiers, from the 101st Airborne Division's Task Force Band of Brothers, were withheld pending notification of next of kin.
