Four soldiers were killed Monday by a rocket-propelled grenade fired by gunmen in eastern Lebanon.
The state news agency said the ambush took place on a major road near the town of Rayak in the Bekaa Valley.
The attack comes after a recent push by Lebanese troops to crack down on drug smugglers in the lawless region.
The northern Bekaa Valley has Hizbullah strongholds as well as a history of drug cultivation and smuggling.
