Bahraini FM calls for Mideast organization that includes Israel

Middle East nations should form a regional organization that includes Israel and Iran, the Arab countries' top rivals, to try to resolve their disputes, Bahrain's foreign minister insisted. Foreign Minister Sheik Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa made his comments in an interview with the Arab newspaper Al-Hayat published Wednesday. Sheik Khalid said that such an organization should be formed "even if we don't recognize each other." A day earlier, Khalid called for such a Mideast organization to include countries "without exception," though he didn't specifically mention Israel and Iran.
