Blair meets Fayad in Ramallah, applauds Obama's appointment of Mitchell

International Mideast envoy Tony Blair on Sunday welcomed President Barack Obama's appointment of George Mitchell as his top Middle East envoy. "I see this as a partnership between America on the one side and the international community on the other...to make sure that we get the help to people in Gaza, then that we set about revitalizing the process toward negotiation, leading to (Palestinian) statehood," Blair said. Blair spokes after meeting Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayad in Ramallah.
