The officials said the vehicles were seized on Sunday after a shootout during which the drivers fled.
They said the trucks, which were captured inside Egypt near the Sudanese
border, carried large quantities of mortars, rocket propelled grenades,
rifles and explosives, reported AP.
The officials said the weapons were headed to Hamas in Gaza through smuggling tunnels.
The IDF also seized a freighter ship
with dozens of tons of weaponry from Iran headed for Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
The ship, known as Victoria, was flying a Liberian flag, and was seized
by the navy in the Mediterranean Sea, 200 miles off of Israel's coast.
