Fayad calls on Israel to open Gaza crossings, stop settlement construction

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayad called on Israel to open the crossings to the Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported Thursday afternoon.
Speaking at a press conference in Prague with Czech Prime Minister Mirek Mirek Topolánek, Fayad went on to say that "one and a half million Palestinians feel like they have nothing to lose."
"The situation has to stop," he added.
The PA prime minister also said that Israel needs to fulfill its obligations from the road map peace plan, including ceasing building in settlements.
