Gadhafi's daughter supports Iraqi shoe-thrower

The daughter of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi is honoring the Iraqi television reporter who hurled his shoes as US President George W. Bush. A charity led by Aicha Moammar Gadhafi said the organization bestowed a medal of courage to Muntadhar al-Zeidi, and that Zeidi's behavior was "a victory for human rights." In a statement Monday, the charity called on media and legal groups to support Zeidi and pressure the Iraqi government to free him. Zeidi has been in Iraqi custody since throwing two shoes at Bush during a press conference Sunday in Baghdad. Arabs across the Middle East have hailed the shoe-throwing as a proper send-off to the unpopular US president.
