Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned on Monday a US military raid on Syrian territory close to the border with Iraq. Hasan Qashqavi told reporters that a violation of the territorial integrity of any sovereign state was unacceptable. Syria said US military helicopters launched the attack Sunday on Syrian territory, killing eight people. Damascus said that US helicopters attacked a civilian building under construction and fired on workers inside. It says civilians were among the dead. A US military official has said special forces conducted a raid targeting the network of al-Qaida-linked foreign fighters moving through Syria into Iraq
