The IDF has handed over data on cluster bombs fired during the 2006 war with Hizbullah, the UN peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon said. The move follows UN and Lebanese calls for information that could help eliminate the threat that has killed more than 20 civilians and wounded about 200 since the fighting ended in August 2006. A statement by the UN in Lebanon said the peacekeepers received "technical strike data and related maps" Tuesday and would pass them on to the Lebanese army. The UN and human rights groups say Israel dropped about four million cluster bomblets during the month-long war. Up to a million failed to explode and can detonate at the slightest disturbance. Lebanon's south is also riddled with land mines.
