Lebanon charged nine people on Tuesday with collaborating with Israel, raising the number of suspects arraigned in the past few weeks to 35, the state-run National News Agency reported.
Also Tuesday, an Egyptian man and a Lebanese citizen were arrested on suspicion of spying for Israel, security officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
In Lebanon, spying for or collaborating with Israel can be punishable by death.
Military prosecutor Saqr Saqr charged the nine suspects with aiding IDF forces and providing Israel with information about civilian and military positions and political figures in Lebanon, the state agency said, adding that some were charged with illegally entering Israel.
Two others from the group are still at large, the agency added.
The Egyptian man's arrest in south Lebanon was the first case involving an Egyptian.
Israel has refused in the past to comment on Lebanon's spying allegations.
Tuesday's arrests bring to about 100 the number of people who have been detained by police and army intelligence agents on suspicion of collaborating with Israel since Lebanese authorities stepped up a campaign against suspected Israeli spies over the past two months.
Suspects in security-related cases in Lebanon are often held for months before formal charges are filed.
Those arrested have all been accused of providing intelligence to Israel on Hizbullah.
Several others who have been charged are also still at large, and Lebanese officials have said three suspected spies fled across the border to Israel.
There are two Lebanese army colonels among those arrested. This prompted the Lebanese army to send a message to its troops last week warning them against Israeli attempts to infiltrate the military.
