A Palestinian was killed Sunday when a smuggling tunnel beneath the border with Gaza collapsed, according to an Egyptian police official.
Egyptian police said the victim suffocated, while several other smugglers survived the accident.
The police used heavy machinery to recover the man's body.
The police official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.
