Syria dismisses uranium traces report

A Syrian official is disputing a UN nuclear watchdog's discovery of uranium traces at a bombed site which US officials say was an unfinished nuclear reactor. Buthaina Shaaban, President Bashar Assad's adviser, also said in a CNN interview early Tuesday that Damascus is waiting for the International Atomic Energy Agency's release of a report on its investigation into Syria's purported nuclear activities. IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei has said the agency needs more transparency from Syria, and other nations, to determine the source behind uranium traces at a site bombed by Israeli jets last year.
