The Syrian Arab Army forces stationed in Hama were instrumental in the creation of the Tiger Forces, an elite unit commanded by Brigadier General Suheil al-Hassan.
Hama AB is a key SyAAF operational hub, especially for its Mi-8/17 barrel bombing fleet. The resident air force intelligence detachment formed the original core of what would become the "Tiger Forces". Rebels have in past tried to strike at the base during offensives using Grads. https://t.co/d0ChVPzoYJ— Tobias Schneider (@tobiaschneider) May 22, 2019
