The US army has captured 18 terror suspects in raids against al-Qaida in Iraq, the military said Friday.
The army said the suspects were detained Thursday and Friday.
A military statement said those captured included four suspects in the northern city of Kirkuk. The suspects are allegedly associated with a regional al-Qaida in Iraq leader.
Another suspected al-Qaida operator was detained in Sulaiman Bek, 100 miles north of Baghdad. The suspect is believed to have had a role in roadside bomb attacks.
