Police were alerted to the weapons cache by a local resident. A patrol car was dispatched to the apartment and found the illegal weapons.

The lawyer, named as Liora Barko, reportedly represented criminal elements in the past and, according to Army Radio, had been previously arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into members of the Bar- Moha crime syndicate in prison.

According to Channel 10, the weapons could even be used to attack armored vehicles.

Barkan has denied all suspicions against her. The Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court remanded the suspect to two-days custody on Sunday.

Police, in the meantime, have removed the arms and neutralized the explosives.
