The Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office filed an indictment on Wednesday in the district court against a well-known rabbinical assistant to a senior rabbi, for allegedly sexually assaulting and committing indecent acts on his own (the aide’s) three daughters, minors at the time of the alleged assaults.
The court issued a broad gag order, covering, not only the identity of the accused, but also his connection to the senior rabbi and the name of the senior rabbi.
Unlike typical situations, the state did not even announce the indictment on Wednesday and was only providing copies of the indictment on Thursday to members of the press who specifically requested them.
According to the indictment, the accused sexually assaulted his eldest daughter on all of the most intimate parts of her body, both by hand and orally, got into bed with her naked and got into the shower with her while she was naked when she was between the ages of 12 to 14.
The indictment said that before some of the actions, the accused cited alleged passages of Jewish law justifying his actions and forced himself on her despite her occasional resistance.
The accused also tried to secretly videotape the same daughter while she was removing her clothes in her bedroom, said the indictment.
He is also accused of sexually assaulting his two younger daughters, the indictment alleged.
The state requested that the accused be remanded to police custody until the end of the proceedings.
