leak, which was revealed in July 2010 but whose source only came to
light now, was the reason Arad left his post in March, according to the report. At the time of
the leak, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ordered Arad and other senior officials in the PMO to take polygraph tests, which Arad reportedly passed despite the new allegation against him.
the time of his resignation, Netanyahu
nominated Arad for the post of ambassador to London, a move which was
later blocked by Avigdor Lieberman. After filing his resignation, Arad was
given a formal sendoff filled with tributes to his work.
