Three rockets hit Sderot while the Knesset Interior Committee visited the Gaza border town Sunday. Interior Committee chairwoman Miri Regev (Likud Beytenu) and MKs David Tsur (Hatnua), Moshe Feiglin (Likud Beytenu), Eli Yishai (Shas) and Tamar Zandberg (Meretz) were briefed by Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi on damage caused to the city by rockets. During the meeting with Davidi, Regev called to take citizenship away from Israeli- Arabs who incite to terrorism. Davidi told the MKs that 300 toddlers won't have where to go in September, because there are not enough armored daycare centers. The Sderot mayor also said the municipality building is not armored, and if it is hit by a rocket, the city will not be able to function. “The fact that 73 percent of the children in Sderot go to school every day shows we are not afraid and do not surrender to terrorism,” Regev said. Regev called for the government to take action against Hamas in Gaza. “As time passes, Israel loses its legitimacy in the international community to respond to Hamas. We have no need for a cease-fire. We need to go in to Gaza and make them want to stop shooting,” she said. Zandberg said she spoke to Sderot residents who think differently and are opposed to “yet another round of violence,” which they do not think will change anything. In response Davidi stood up and shouted at her: “I won't have this cheap demagogy in my city.” “I'm trying to relay what I heard from residents,” Zandberg explained. “Don't you dare say I'm like the terrorists in Gaza. Not all violence is the same,” Davidi responded. After the meeting, the MKs visited a plastics factory that was hit by a rocket last month.
