16 people require treatment for drowning-related incidents during a weekend which saw rough seas along the shore line.

Stormy seas claimed the lives of three people on Saturday, and many more were pulled from the sea after nearly drowning.A toddler died after drowning in a pool in the backyard of a private residence. The father brought the child to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba where the child's death was declared following failed efforts to revive him.A sixty-year-old man drowned off of the Bograshov beach in Tel Aviv. Medics who arrived on the scene were unable to save the man.In Netanya a man in his 50's was brought to the hospital in critical condition, as was a 20-year-old man who nearly drowned in Tel Aviv.Yesterday two women and a man drifted out to sea, but they were saved by Tel Aviv maritime police.According to Magen David Adom, 16 people received treatment for drowning-related incidents over the weekend, three of which eventually passed away. 33 people have needed treatment since the beginning of the week.Translated by Amishai Gottlieb.
