Two men were killed  in a lethal drive-by shooting attack carried out with an automatic weapon in Taibe, east of Netanya on Friday evening.

The shooting victims were sitting in their vehicle when a second car drove past and bullets sprayed the car, police said.

The shooting took place on a main road in Taibe which connects Route 44 and Route 24.

Senior police officers from the Sharon sub district and the Central Unit arrived at the scene and forensic officers gathered evidence.

Two days ago a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Netanya because of a dispute between neighbors. The man who died was the 16th to be killed in the Sharon area since the beginning of the year. The number number rose to 18 after the double murder on Friday evening.
