The nonagenarian Nobel laureate posted an item on his Facebook page showing his image with the Egyptian pyramids in the background under the title "Exodus from Egypt selfie."

The humorous meme is a play on Peres' advanced age and timed perfectly for Passover.

"If it's gone viral on social media, then it must be true," the former president wrote, adding a smiley. "Chag sameach, Am Yisrael."
