1. Yehoshua\TBWA
Last Thursday, a huge party was held by Tel Aviv advertising agency Yehoshua\TBWA at Hangar 11 at the Tel Aviv Port to celebrate 20 years of activity. The evening was hosted by founder and chairman Rami Yehoshua; deputy CEO and partner Nevo Carmi; and CEO Yigal Barkat. Guests enjoyed a performance by Mashina’s lead vocalist Yuval Banai. There to celebrate were David Fattal and Riki Turgeman, Orna and Prof. Shuki Shemer and Michal and Tal Raban.

2. Senior Economists

The Forum of Senior Economists at the University of Haifa met last Thursday at the Herods Hotel in Tel Aviv. The forum was held under the auspices of the Friends of the University of Haifa and was attended by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked; president of the university Prof. Ron Rubin; rector of the university Prof. Gustavo Mesch; and chairman of the board of directors of the university Molly Eden.

The forum, which was established to carry out collaboration between Israeli business and economic leaders and university excellence projects, was sponsored by Rosario Capital LTD, under the direction of Ruben Eblagon, a graduate of Haifa University and chairman of Rosario. Attending were Moshe Edery, David Fattal, Rani Rahav and Yossi Elbaz.

3. Democracy Education

The Dov Lautman Conference for Democracy Education was held on Tuesday at the Ra’anana Open University campus. The conference, held for the third year, dealt with the challenges of education for democracy in the areas of informal education, the military and social networking. Attending the conference were President Reuven Rivlin; Dov Lautman’s son Noam Lautman, who serves as chairman of the Lautman Foundation; former IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi; head of IDF Personnel Maj. Gen. Moti Almoz; director-general of the Education Ministry Shmuel Abuav; and former education minister and founder of Pnima, Shai Piron.

4. Scientific Club

The Weizmann Institute Scientific Club held an event at the Tel Aviv Hilton Hotel that was hosted by chairman Shimshon Harel, owner of America Israel, and CEO Yael Goren-Wegman. The evening opened with a dinner and then Education Minister Naftali Bennet Bennett spoke before more than 300 Israeli economic leaders. Afterwards, a ceremony was held for Ruth and Uriel Arnon, who were honored by Weizmann president Daniel Zajfman. Attending were Rami and Yael Unger; Gideon and Hannah Hamburger; Sami and Tova Sagol; Yehuda Bronicki; Ilana and Pascal Manto; and Prof. Michael Sela.

5. Elem
Elem, which helps young people at risk, held its annual fundraising event at the Smolarz Auditorium at Tel Aviv University, in celebration of 34 years of activity. This year’s activity was devoted mainly to projects helping homeless people and victims of sexual assault. Attending were Elem president Nava Barak; Shalom Singer; Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo Ron Huldai; Elem chairman Shlomo Yanai and his wife Ahuva, who is the director of Matan; director of Elem Inbal Dor-Karbel; Varda and Boaz Dotan; and Gilad Altshuler.
