Maccabi Tel Aviv has continued to strengthen its roster ahead of the start of the Euroleague Top-16, signing forward Charles Gaines until the end of the season on Tuesday. Gaines is Maccabi's second signing in three days. Dee Brown joined the team on Saturday, and both he and Gaines will be available for Thursday's Top-16 opener against Alba Berlin at the Nokia Arena. Gaines played for the NBDL's Austin Toros this season, averaging 14.9 points and 10.3 rebounds in 23 games. Gaines also has vast European experience, having played in the Italian, French, Spanish and Turkish leagues. Last season the 27-year-old American played with his new Maccabi teammate Dee Brown at Galatasaray of Turkey, averaging 12.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in league play.
