Despite more than seven hours of discussions, the representatives of Israel, Greece, Switzerland, Moldova, Latvia and Luxemburg failed on Wednesday to come to an agreement on the match schedule for their 2010 World Cup qualifying group. The meeting at the Hilton hotel in Tel Aviv seemed to be heading to a successful ending, but a disagreement between Greece and Latvia thwarted any such hope. "We reached an agreement on every fixture apart from the matches between Greece and Latvia," Israel Football Association chairman Avi Luzon said. "I suggested to Greece and Latvia that we draw who hosts who when, but they disagreed. If they can't come to an agreement we'll ask FIFA to determine the order of games." The teams have to agree on a schedule before FIFA's January 16th deadline or soccer's governing body will randomly draw the order of matches.
