The Tel Aviv Pioneers defeated the Tel Aviv Sabres 50-36 in the latest round of the Israel Football League. After racing to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter, the Pioneers were always going to be hard to catch. The Sabres matched their local rivals in the second and third quarter and even out scored them 22-14 in the final period but it was too little, too late. Lior Gazit of the Pioneers was the game's MVP. In Israeli Rugby, Yizre'el again showed it is the team to beat with a 59-0 demolition of Jerusalem. ASA Tel Aviv got in on the act trouncing Haifa 62-0. Ra'anana against Ashkelon was a much closer game with Ashkelon prevailing 27-15. In women's sevens Tel Aviv defeated Ra'anana 14-0 and followed that up with a 39-0 win over Haifa. Ra'anana then took on Haifa and was victorious 12-5.
