Defending champs Penticon booked a slot in the Israel Softball Assocation Finals against Dimona with a convincing 6-1 win over Ziontours. Pitcher Ami Baran was masterful on the mound, keeping the Ziontours bats off the board until the fifth inning. Penticon took a 1-0 lead off Ziontours pitcher Aaron Levarko in the first with the first of two inside-the-park HRs by Daniel Maddy-Weizman. Dan Marcus increased the lead to 3-0 in the third with a clutch 2-run single a double by David Rael-Brook moved Howie Hirsch to third base. Ziontours answered with one in the fifth on Noam Zwilling's RBI triple but Maddy-Weizman, who also shone on defense in centerfield, capped the scoring with a big three-run homer in the seventh. Game 1 of the Finals takes place on Friday at 10 a.m., matching up the top two teams of the ISA Fastpitch league. Entrance to the finals is free at the Baptist Village in Petah Tikvah.
