Asa Tel Aviv beat Maccabi Rishon Lezion to retain handball's State Cup in the most dramatic of fashions in Ra'anana on Thursday evening. The team in yellow had been trailing for the entire game until a minute before the end when it equalized and then scored a winner to take the game 23-22. The winning goal was scored by Ido Lavie right at the death. Also Thursday, Bnei Herzliya beat Hapoel Holon 30-25 in the women's handball State Cup final. After a tight game, Herzliya opened up a lead it wouldn't relinquish and won the game 30-25.
