Hapoel TA to play Rubin

After impressively finishing top of its UEFA Europa League group by beating German side Hamburg on Thursday, Hapoel Tel Aviv was drawn Friday to play Russian Champion Rubin Kazan in the last 32 of the competition. It is a relatively tough draw for Eli Gutman's men, who will be facing a side which finished third in its Champions League group behind Barcelona and Inter Milan, and which magnificently beat the Spanish giants 2-1 at the Nou Camp in October. The first leg will be played in Kazan on February 17/18 with the return leg at Tel Aviv's Bloomfield Stadium a week later. The weather could well be factor in the tie, with temperatures in Kazan projected to fall to -14 degrees centigrade. The winner of the tie will face the winner of Villarreal versus Wolfsburg in the following round.
