Ironi Kiryat Shmona continued its superb start to the Premier League season on Monday night, jumping back to the top of the standings with a 1-0 home victory over Hapoel Ramat Gan.

Macedonian striker Zoran Baldovaliev scored the winner for last season’s National League champion from the penalty spot in the 39th minute, and Kiryat Shmona was fortunate to hold off a feisty Ramat Gan side, which had plenty of chances to equalize.

“I knew this would be a difficult match after last week’s victory,” said Ben-Shimon after seeing his team follow-up the 4- 2 triumph over Hapoel Tel Aviv with another win on Monday.

“Despite the fact that we didn’t play that well the only thing that really matters at the moment is the final result.”
