Moshe Weinkrantz resigned as Bnei Hasharon coach on Tuesday, just two games into the season. The 55-year-old hadn't coached in Israeli basketball's top flight for eight seasons before joining Bnei Hasharon in the summer. And, after suffering two defeats to start the season, Weinkrantz decided he had no option but to leave. "I came to the conclusion that the team must go through an extreme and deep change to meet the goals it set itself," Weinkrantz said. "Despite all the discomfort of this situation this had to be done. I wish the team all the best in the future." Former Ironi Nahariya coach Roni Bosani is currently the frontrunner to replace Weinkrantz, with Bnei Hasharon chairman Eldad Akunis looking to sign a replacement before Saturday's BSL game against Hapoel Jerusalem. "Moshe decided to resign and that's a real shame," Akunis said. "I believe in Weinkrantz and he could have gotten the team out of this crisis. I'm sure I'll continue to use his advice down the road." Bnei Hasharon only came into existence six years ago when Ra'anana and Bnei Herzliya merged, but has already made a deep impact on Israeli basketball. Last season the club finished third in the BSL Final Four, qualifying for the group stages of this season's Eurocup.
