The top seeds in the Israel Tennis Championships safely made their way through to the semifinals of the event on Tuesday. The strong winds and cold weather made for less than ideal conditions in Ra'anana, but the top four seeds in the men's and women's tournaments all got the better of the elements and their opponents. Shahar Pe'er (1) defeated Olga Blank 6-0, 7-6 and will face Julia Glushko (3) in the last four after the youngster beat Jessica Cohen 7-5, 7-5. In the other semifinal, Tzipi Obziler, who got the better of Nadine Fahum (6-1, 6-3), will play Chen Astrogo (4), who defeated Liat Zimmerman 2-6, 7-5, 6-3. In the men's competition, Dudi Sela (1) beat Sa'ar Steele 6-2, 6-3 and will next face Noam Okun (3), who defeated Gilad Ben-Zvi 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Defending champion Harel Levy (2) bested Almog Mashiach 6-0, 6-4 on Tuesday and will play his Davis Cup teammate Amir Weintraub (4) in the semis, after the latter defeated Idan Mark 6-0, 6-4.
