Tennis: Pe'er, Sela sail into quarters

Shahar Pe'er and Dudi Sela advanced to the quarterfinals of the Israel Tennis Championships in Ra'anana in straight sets on Monday. After a three hour rain delay, Pe'er surprisingly didn't have her way with women's youth champion Ofri Lankri, but eventually defeated the 16-year-old, 6-4, 6-3. "This is my first match in two-and-a-half months so obviously it was a little tough," said Pe'er. Sela was more on form and easily got the better of Yishai Hadash, 6-3, 6-0. Also Monday, Tzipi Obziler advanced to the last-eight with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Keren Shlomo. In the men's tournament, all the top seeds safely made their way through to the quarterfinals. Harel Levy (2) beat Idan Rosenberg 6-0, 6-1, Noam Okun (3) defeated Ofir Ginat 6-2, 6-2 and Amir Weintraub (4) thrashed men's youth champion Gal Hakak 6-0, 6-0.
