Gabbay: Netanyahu’s ‘political hug’ with Trump hurting Israel

“Netanyahu is taking the security greatest that any Israeli leader has ever taken and that is to lose US support,” Gabbay said at a Maariv conference.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is endangering the future of the State of Israel by closely aligning himself with US President Donald Trump, Labor Party chairman Avi Gabbay said this past week.
“Netanyahu is taking the greatest security risk that any Israeli leader has ever taken and that is to lose US support,” Gabbay said at a Maariv conference. “Since if we lose American support there is nothing more significant for the State of Israel.”
Gabbay said that Israel is going to pay for the “political hug” – as he called it – between Netanyahu and President Donald Trump.
“An entire generation of democrats is disengaging from us and sees us as their political adversaries,” Gabbay said. “The payback will come in 2020, 2024 or 2028. One day there will be a change of government there since that is what happens in the US and we will pay the price.”
