The Trump family is not wildly popular among their people these days, a Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday reveals. Their favorability stands at just 39% collectively.
Recent moves to grant US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka an official West Wing role were met negatively by the public, with 53% saying her having such a significant position was "inappropriate."

Ivanka's husband, Jared Kushner, received similar feedback, with 53% finding his role as strategist and advisor inappropriate.
As for the President himself, Trump's approval rating stands at only 40% in the poll, though that is an improvement from the April 4th survey which found him with just 35% approval.
Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, owed this improvement to Trump's decision to launch a missile strike against Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces. Sixty-one percent of respondents approved of the missile strike, although 62% feel that it will not be effective in preventing future Syrian government use of chemical weapons.
"With only a slight bombing bump, President Donald Trump stays mired in miserable numbers. The first 100 days draw to a close with character flaws overwhelming his strongest traits, intelligence and strength as a person," Malloy said, referring to Trump's comparatively high ratings in intelligence (58%) and strength (61%).
The poll was conducted from April 12-18, among 1,062 voters across America, with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
