Meghan McCain responded with strong emotions when discussing the growing global wave of antisemitism during her ABC show The View on Thursday.
McCain said she doesn't understand why Rep Ilhan Omar [D-MN] singles out Jews and Israel in her comments, The Jewish Voice reported.
McCain said she doesn't have Jewish family members but feels that Joe and Hadassah Lieberman were like family to her.
Her co-host Sunny Hostin mentioned she is descendent of Sephardic Jews and is a woman of color, she said that passing a resolution that only speaks of Jews as deserving of protection from hatred would not serve all parties involved.
The Congressional resolution condemned both anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim, as well as discrimination and bigotry against minorities, as "hateful expressions…contrary to the values and aspirations of the United States."
US President Donald Trump called the vote "disgraceful" and warned that the Democratic party became "anti-Jewish" and "anti-Israeli."
