Adi Nes's 'Last Supper' sold in NY for $264,000

The photograph "The Last Supper" by renowned Israeli photographer Adi Nes was sold in New York for $264,000 on Wednesday. "The Last Supper," a huge photograph showing IDF soldiers eating at a long table in a setup paying tribute to Leonardo da Vinci's famous Milan fresco, is a tour de force of photographic technique in its large dimensions and a clever quote from a milestone of art history. Images of IDF soldiers are found in many of Nes's works, and the homoerotic aspect of his soldiers is prominent. Nes is represented by the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York and the Gallery Praz Delavallade in Paris.
