Datner resigns from Beersheba Theater

The general director of the theater says he has enjoyed five-and-a-half intense and rewarding years, but that the time has come for new challenges.

After five and a half years as general director of the Beersheba Theater, Natan Datner has informed the board that he will be resigning his position when his current contract expires in February 2010. During his tenure, the theater mounted 27 productions, six of which he directed. Datner was also very active in establishing the Larry and Lilian Goodman Negev performing Arts School, and he oversaw the transfer of the theater to its new home in the Beersheba Performing Arts Center. Datner said that he has enjoyed five-and-a-half intense and rewarding years, but that the time has come for new challenges.
