The Khan Theater's board of directors decided this week to extend the tenure of artistic director Michael Gurevitch by another three years, following a discussion on the artistic policy of the Jerusalem repertoire-theater."The Board of Directors expressed satisfaction over the theater's high-quality repertoire, which received the acclaim of audiences and critics, over the budgetary balance maintained and over the growing number of subscriptions to the theater," an announcement issued on Tuesday read.The recent dramatic resignation of the Khan's executive director Yaki Har-Tal raised speculation as to whether the Board would keep Gurevitch at the helm of one of Israel's leading theaters.Gurevitch, a 58-year-old playwright and director, has led the theater since 2001, and over the years has won various awards for his work. Among the productions he directed at the Khan are Happiness, Fighting for Home, The Winners and The Miser.
