It’s official: American pop star Lana Del Rey will perform in Israel for the first time on August 20 at the Trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv, the show’s producers announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
Concert producer Udi Appelboim, who is also producing of one of the summer’s other big shows – Justin Timberlake – said that the show will be a huge event that will “bring together lots of different groups of people.”
While Del Rey’s opening act has yet to be revealed, Appelboim said that there are several options he and the other producers are considering, though he kept mum on who those acts might be.
The sultry songstress will join the likes of The Rolling Stones, Timberlake, Neil Young, the Pixies and Soundgarden, among others, for an exciting line-up of big-name acts performing in Israel this summer.
Del Rey is known for hits like “Video Games,” “Summertime Sadness” and “Young and Beautiful,” and has called her vintage Americana-inspired style “gangster and Nancy Sinatra.”
Her latest single, “West Coast,” was released in April ahead of her highly anticipated album Ultraviolence, scheduled to be released in late May.
The New York native was catapulted to fame with the release of her number-one album Born to Die in January 2012. She has since earned numerous awards and nominations including two BRIT awards and two Grammy nominations.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday at 8 a.m. Standing room tickets will be sold for NIS 400 and VIP tickets for NIS 1,000.
